Sussex Downs College partnership
Treasure Island Toys has recently struck a partnership opportunity with Sussex Downs College, in Lewes, working with the University of Brighton students from the Multimedia department.
The students are going to be creating short animated stories based on Bertie the Pirate, Georgina the Ballerina and their friends which are then going to be uploaded to www.bertiethepirate.co.uk and www.georginatheballerina.co.uk websites.
The idea for the project came from Treasure Island Toys own Kavan Webb who was previously a student on the Multimedia course at Sussex Downs College, and enjoyed great success working with them, graduating with a Batchelor of Arts degree in Multimedia.
The idea of this partnership is to create an interesting scenario for the students, as they will be working on a project that is for a real client. It should hopefully give the students an insight into how to deal with client relations and sticking to brand guidelines, but most of all it means that the students university work will not just end up on a CD-R in their bedroom forever. It will hopefully become a piece of work that will actually be used by many children visiting the websites, a piece of work that the students can be proud of and also show potential clients/employers in the future that they have live project work on the Internet.
We are very excited about this and are expecting some great work from the students.
