The MOOV, by Berg toys is in essence a giant version of Meccano. You have all the bits and pieces to create different vehicles which once built, you can actually take out into the garden, down the park into the streets and ride around, and once you have had enough of that particular vehicle, simply take it apart and create a new style of vehicle.
Depending on what set you purchase, there are a different quantity of pieces, which allow you to make an increasing number of vehicle types.
The Berg Moov 3 in 1 Street Kit contains more than 125 different pieces and comes with instructions to create 3 different vehicle types (Bike, Snowscooter and Crane).
The Berg Moov 7 in 1 Advanced Kit comes with more than 150 pieces and comes with instructions to create 7 different vehicle types (Bike, Snowscooter, Crane, Helicopter, Dino Bird, Chopper, Helicopter)
The Berg Moov 10 in 1 Advanced Kit comes with more than 175 pieces and comes with instructions to create 10 different vehicle types (Bike, Snowscooter, Crane, Helicopter, Dino Bird, Chopper, Helicopter, Racer, Trike, Carver)
Of course these are only what Berg have given instructions to create. With a bit of imagination there are endless possibilities.
We instantly loved this toy as it has so many different functions. First of all it allows the child to learn how to follow quite technical instructions about how to build a vehicle. This requires logical thinking, hand-eye co-ordination, fine motor skills which are all skills that everyone needs as an adult.
Secondly, once built it is a fully functional vehicle for fun. Children can spend their play time riding, scooting, sledging around the town and have hours and hours of fun. This too is a very important part of growing up, as physical play helps to keep a child fit and healthy whilst at the same time many skills are developed, including the ability to judge speed, steer and pedal and general co-ordination is fine tuned.
Thirdly, this toy really helps demonstrate their creativity as they have the ability to disregard the instructions and create the vehicle or object that they want to play with.
This versatility of the product has been confirmed with the Moov being nominated for and awarded an array of accolades including an honourable mentions by the ‘Red Dot Design Award’, the ‘Goldene Schaukelpferd’ which translates as ‘Best Toy of the Year’, ‘Toy of the Year 2008’ from the Speelgoed van het jaar amongst others.
