Tolo Toys vs Fisher Price
Who is better? Tolo or Fisher Price. Find out inside…

Being great advocates of Tolo Toys and their outstanding quality, it has
recently come to our attention that Fisher Price are doing a range of small
poseable animal figures called 'Fisher Price Amazing Animals' that are similar
to the Tolo First Friends series.
Below is a short piece about why we love Tolo's First Friends series, and always
will.
Tolo began life in 1985, and is a British owned company (although the head
office is now in Hong Kong), with the aim of developing an extensive product
catalogue, which are great fun aswell as being education in a child's formative
years.
They use only the highest quality materials, and make sure that all their
products have a smooth shiny surface, with no sharp edges and avoid the use of
paint wherever possible.
Tolo Toys hold ISO 9001 certification which is awarded to companies whose
products are of a consistently superb quality.
Their products are ethically made and the company is accredited with ICTI
certification, which is a standard which promotes fair labour and health &
safety for employees.
They are also one of the few toy companies in the world with SA 8000
certification, which refers to ethical manufacturing in regards to social and
environmental accountability.
So not only are their products fantastic quality, but the company treats all
staff, suppliers and the environment fairly. Which we like.
On the other hand, a quick look on Google for Fisher Price and you will come
across articles about how Fisher Price had to recall nearly 1m "Made in China"
toys over concerns of lead based paint, aswell as others...
I have searched, and searched, and I cannot find a single bad press article
about Tolo toys. Which certainly says something to me.
With regards to comparing the actual Tolo First Friends product range and the
Fisher Price Amazing Animals, the first thing that I notice is that the Fisher
Price range is much smaller than Tolo's. I can only find about 20 Fisher Price
Amazing Animals products, with only half of them actually being animals, and the
others accessories.
Whereas Tolo First Friends range has nearly 70 different First Friends
characters, ranging from Medical Staff and on the farm animals, right through to
dinosaurs and various vehicle accessories.
The design of the products is another glaring difference. This one is
completely down to personal preference, as every individual has differing tastes
(the World would be boring if we didn't), but personally the simple, soft colour
approach of the Tolo range, is much nicer than the bright, primary/multi colour
approach from Fisher Price.
Each range has poseable limbs, to allow baby to manipulate the toy however they
wish.
In conclusion, I prefer the Tolo range because the company has the certification
to prove their toys are of a high quality, they have a strong code of ethics, a
greatly larger range of products which are beautifully designed.
